Uplands Cheese Company Making only a single cheese - the much awarded Pleasant Ridge Reserve - Uplands Cheese is a farmstead operation using the milk from a single dairy herd, rotationally grazed on pasture grasses, herbs and wildflowers. It is made only in the summer months, making the supply limited. The cheese has a rare honor - winning Best of Show twice in 2001 and 2005 from the Amercian Cheese Society. In addition, it was U.S. Champion at the 2003 U.S. Championship Cheese contest, the only cheese ever to win both national awards. It has been recognized as one of the top 10 American-made farmstead artisan cheeses. Beaufort in style, the washed-rind, complexly flavored cheese is aged in a cave environment.
